SUMMER SKILL SCHOOLS:
We will begin the summer skill school at the end of May and run through the summer until the first week in August with a break at the end of June as I will be at Volleyball festival. These schools always sell out early every summer and we will limit each school to 25 kids. These schools are open to any players from any school or club program but is first come, first serve. We will offer the following---
Evening schools--open to those going into grades 9-12.
1. Setter's, middles, outsides, and defense/ball handling. We will use Monday and Tuesday evenings with setter and outsides going on Mondays at two different times and middles/defense going Tuesdays at different times. Courts will be divided for each school according to experience level. Higer experience level, the more complex the teaching so that each court will have instruction according to the level of skills for each player. There is no game play at all!!!!!! Just fast paced drills that work hard on footwork patterns, transition, attacking, blocking, passing, and drills that are specific for each school. A lot of video taping and viewing on the spot to speed up learning. Every school is tailored specifically to the player's position and everything they need to technically learn and practice in each position.
2. Daytime skill schools---those going into grade 7 or 8 and will work specifically with a lot of hitting and passing, video taping, along with honing serving techniques and setting. This school will be either Thursday or Fridays during the day probably noon to 2 to stay away from evening activities that kids might have.
Schools are $225 and each school is once a week and will have 6 two hour sessions over the summer with no prorating for sessions you miss. There is no attendance taken and if you are there, you receive the instruction, if you are not, you do not and no one judges you nor do you need to call in for an absence. It is your money. A complete schedule of dates will be out in April but will mirror the days that we listed above. If you wish to enroll, remember, it is first come first serve for the 25 slots. Each application must have a $50 deposit accompany it. We will contact you in late April for the dates, and, if the dates do not work out for you, we will refund your deposit. Once we contact you, you will have one week to send in the remainder of the class fee or lose your slot in the school as we have lengthy waiting lists.
